Students of Chinese in Mrs. Firestein’s 5^th grade class had the opportunity to practice their character recognition skills on Quizlet Live.  The students challenged themselves and fellow classmates as they raced to identify as many characters as possible within a set amount of time.  Thanks to the 1-to-1 initiative, learners were actively engaged and excited throughout the language learning process.  This activity leads to students’ development of reading skills and competency in the interpretive mode of Communication (ACTFL World Readiness Standard) at the Novice level.
