    Hawks Notch a Win at POB Homecoming

    The POB school community gathered on Saturday, October 15 for its annual Homecoming celebration. The jubilant display of school spirit was made even more so when the POB Hawks prevailed against Westbury 24-8, capping the day-long celebration.

    POBJFKHS Students Get Lessons in Political Civility

    Seniors at POBJFKHS were treated to a special series of workshops on October 12th when they learned techniques on holding polite political discussions. The workshops were led by the nonprofit Braver Angels, which seeks to bridge an increasing partisan divide across the country.

    POBJFKHS Students Earn Top Marks in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Competition

    Seniors at POBJFKHS had another strong showing at the National Merit Scholarship Competition for the 2022-2023 school year. Ryan Flood, Sophia Gu, Ethan Hsu and Daniel Zhang have been named competition semifinalists, while 19 other students were named Commended Students in the prestigious contest.

    POB Welcomes Students Back to School

    The skies were clear and bright amid the cool late summer weather on September 2nd as the POBCSD welcomed students back for the 2022-2023 school year. Across the District, teachers and staff greeted the new and returning students fresh from the summer breaks and ready to learn.

    POB Holds New Teacher Orientation

    The POBCSD welcomed its new teachers for the 2022-2023 school year during a series of introductory orientation sessions on August 24th and 25th. The educators were primed on various aspects of the District, including the educational technology tools at their disposal, the ins-and-outs of District policy, and many other topics.
