Mandatory Compliance Training
The Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District will utilize a new web-based service supplied by NYSIR Online University (NYSIR) to satisfy state and federal regulations that requires all district employees to complete annual mandatory compliance training. The purpose of this training is to provide employees with information to help promote a safe and healthy working environment.
Specifically, compliance training will be provided in the following areas:
Suicide Prevention and Evidence Based Risk Factors
Discrimination and Harassment for Employees and Supervisors
Bloodborne Pathogens and Standard Precautions Training Program
Hazard Communication Training: Right to Know
Preventing Phishing
The Dignity for All Students Act
The District may also require employees to complete Diabetes Awareness training if the information is relevant to their work responsibilities.
All training will be provided to employees through a web-based service supplied by the NYSIR Online University (NYSIR). NYSIR provides comprehensive training tutorials accessible from any computer with internet access. The time needed to complete each online tutorial varies from 15-60 minutes per module for a total of approximately 195-minutes of training. Employees may choose to complete six (6) modules in one session or during separate sessions.
With the exception of the Suicide Prevention module, all training must be completed by end of day October 15, 2021. The due date for Suicide Prevention training will be February 1, 2022.
