Here is a brief description of what your child’s 7th grade class will cover and what I expect of them.

    Curriculum:

    1)     The 7th grade curriculum requires that we cover American history from the beginning of time up until the end of the reconstruction era (the end of the rebuilding of the south after the Civil War. (1877)).

    2)     We focus on the Colonial period, the Revolutionary war, the making of the Constitution, the amendments to the Constitution and rights that we are given by the Constitution.

    3)     We also spend time discussing citizenship and the responsibilities of citizenship.

    4)     Another area of focus is the Civil War, why did it happen and what changes happened as a result of the war.

    Grades:

    1)     Your child’s grades will be determined using the follow format
