CAREER TECHNICAL EDUCATION (CTE)

The Career and Technical Education (CTE) endorsement is a New York State Education Department seal indicating that you have completed coursework in a a state approved CTE pathway.  This shows colleges and potential employers that you are better versed in career readiness/awareness and have developed workplace skills over other high school students.

CTE PROGRAM ENDORSEMENT

Program of Study: Early Childhood Education (13.1210)

(requires a minimum of 3.5 credits)

Required Courses:

○ Career & Financial Management - 0.5 credit

○ College Early Childhood Education - 0.5 credit

Required Experience:

○ Early Childhood Education: Career Internship Program - 1.0 credit (108 hours)

OR

○ Early Childhood Education: Paid Work Experience - 1.0 credit (300 hours)

Required Exam:

○ Early Childhood Education 1 Precision Exam - 323

1.5 CREDITS IN THE CAREER CLUSTERS LISTED BELOW:

Family and Consumer Science:

• Child Development - 0.5 credit
• Human Development - 0.5 credit
• Food, Nutrition and Wellness across the Lifespan - 0.5 credit
