    Please note that Spanish 1B is a high school course.  At the end of this year, you will take the Checkpoint A Final Exam. On passing the exam, you will obtain one high school credit. This course will cover topics as outlined by the New York State Standards for World Languages for Checkpoint Level A, which includes the vocabulary and grammar that you learned in 7th grade.

    Quarter: Tests/Quizzes/Common Assessment = 60%; Homework = 20%; Classwork/Assignments = 20%

     

    Google Classroom will be the primary platform that will be used for all work. Please check it every day.

                                                                          

    The textbook for this course is Descubre Level 1. It has an online section called the VHL Central Descubre Supersite, which is available at https://www.vhlcentral.com.  Students will be assigned activities on this site regularly. These assignments will be graded.

     

    Homework will be assigned on Google classroom, VHL Central and on apps like Quizlet, Gimkit, Blooket, Book creator, Boom Learning and Flip. Links will be posted in the Classwork section of Google Classroom.

    Remedial is offered on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during Period 9.

     

    Late/Missing Assignments: When making up a missing assignment, you must fill out the ‘Assignment make-up form’ in the classwork section of Google classroom.
