In our digital world, touch typing is an incredibly important skill. Although students are getting keyboarding instruction at school, the practice time required to make substantial progress in finger strength, dexterity, and speed is not always available during the school day. You can help your children further develop their keyboarding skills at home by allowing them daily practice for just 15 minutes a day. A great resource is the free, web-based application Typing Club at https://www.typingclub.com/. Our students have used Typing Club in school and are familiar with the application. Typing Club allows students to track their progress as they improve their typing skills. Below are some more engaging and free web-based keyboarding programs that your children can use at home. It is important to remember, however, that while online keyboarding games are fun, use of proper finger placement is necessary to help develop keyboarding fluency.
