Brian Pinkney Visits Parkway! January 2016
Mr. Brian Pinkney visited our school on January 28th, 2016! Mr. Pinkney is an award-winning illustrator and author. His primary method of art is a scratchboard technique, which he etches off (sort of like sculpting), and then dyes and paints. His work is amazing, and so is he! We all had a fabulous time, and learned many things, including how to play a paradiddle drum beat!
We send a huge thank you to Parkway's PTA for not only bringing this amazing author/illustrator to us, but also for gifting each student and teacher with one of Mr. Pinkney's books, which he autographed for them. Thank you especially to the PTA Arts in Ed chairperson, Mrs. Starr, and to our wonderful PTA co-presidents Mrs. Ciccarella and Mrs. Rothschild!!!!!!! We also must thank our resident photographer extraordinaire, Mrs. Rosenblatt, for the wonderful pictures. Other pictures were supplied by our assistant principal Dr. Yannucci, Ms. Dennis, and Mrs. Starr.
