The Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District has announced they have a Scholar-Artist Winner for Visual Arts. Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School (POBJFK) student Adrian Kim was recently chosen by the Long Island Arts Alliance (LIAA), Newsday and New York Community Bank Foundation as a Scholar-Artist Award winner in the Visual Arts category.
Adrian Kim was one of only two winners chosen in the Visual Arts category of the competition. Ms. Kim was nominated for the prestigious award by POBJFK art teacher Mr. Warren Jacobson. She was formally recognized at the Long Island Arts Alliance’s Scholar-Artist Kick-Off at the Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts in September and will also be acknowledged at their annual Tilles Center Gala for the Performing Arts in Spring 2013.
Art students from 124 districts across Nassau and Suffolk counties were invited to submit various pieces of work to be judged in the Long Island Arts Alliance’s annual competition. Panels of leading artists and arts educators review submissions, and 20 students are then named LIAA Scholar-Artists.
The Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District congratulates Adrian Kim for receiving this prestigious and highly competitive award.
