POBMS Goes to Boston
Eighth grade students at Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School recently enjoyed the sights, sounds, and tastes of the city of Boston during a two-day educational trip. Students toured and explored the New England capital, where they learned about the history, culture, architecture, politics, and sports of the region. Students also spent time eating local favorites in Quincy Market, including New England clam chowder and Boston cream pie.
During the trip, students also had the opportunity to explore Boston's oldest neighborhoods and monuments, including Paul Revere's House, the North End, Faneuil Hall, and the State House. Other attractions included visiting some of the most interesting and beautiful marine life at the New England Aquarium, home to sea lions, seals, sea turtles, and hundreds of other fish; Dinner at the Hard Rock Café; a Game Show/Dance Party; Boston Duck Tours; and the Boston Museum of Science.
The trip was a successful and rewarding educational experience for Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School students and one that they will remember for many years. The District would like to give a special thanks to the trip's coordinator, Ms. Ali Glassman, and chaperones, including Ms. Bowden, Ms. Charletta, Ms. Fitzpatrick, Ms. Florie Ms. A. Gentile, Ms. J.
