Eighteen eighth-grade students from Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School competed at the high school level in the New York State Art Teachers Association competition, with all participants earning the highest possible rating. NYSATA is a statewide professional organization that promotes excellence in visual arts education and provides opportunities for student recognition through juried exhibitions and competitions.

Eight students were also named All-State recipients, an elite distinction awarded for either a perfect score or within one point of a perfect score. POBMS earned the highest number of All-State honorees of any participating school in New York State.
