On March 16, Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School’s National English Honor Society members visited each of the District’s elementary schools for March’s Let Grow lesson, which focused on leadership and building connections.

High school students guided younger students in ways to connect with others, such as sitting with someone new at lunch or playing with new friends on the playground and helped them come up with additional ideas. They also read “Say Something!” by Peter H. Reynolds and led a craft activity making “Readers are Leaders” necklaces to reinforce the lesson.

The visits promoted leadership and teamwork while strengthening connections across schools within the District in a meaningful and impactful way.
