POB Names Valedictorian & Salutatorian

POB Valedictorian & Salutatorian

The Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District is proud to announce that Jillian Zhang and Chloe Ng are the valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, of the Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School class of 2025. Both students have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and dedication to their community. Jillian is president and co-founder of the heART Initiative, completing five large-scale mural projects across the District’s elementary schools. A National Merit Semi-Finalist, Jillian has won numerous awards, including the Chinese Language Association of Secondary Schools Contest and a Silver Key from the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. She is co-president of the Science Honor Society, overseeing 200 members and organizing Districtwide events, including STEAM Night. Jillian made history as the first two-term president (Secretariat) of the Model United Nations Club in its 53-year history, organizing the largest Model UN conference on Long Island. She is also a member of the Particle Physics Research Team, competing internationally in the Beamline for Schools Competition. With a GPA of 103.6, Jillian will attend Princeton University to study civil and environmental engineering while continuing to pursue her love for art and music as an accomplished pianist. Chloe serves as vice president of community service for the National Honor Society and is a member of the Environmental Club and Youth Against Cancer Club. Chloe has been recognized by the Science Teachers Association of NY and the Long Island Science Congress for her achievements. Beyond academics, she is the captain of the Plainview Fire Department Cadets, a Cancer Kids First ambassador, and an American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network legislative ambassador, where she lobbied in Albany to support cancer biomarker testing legislation. Chloe is also an all-division varsity swimmer and was POB’s Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Ambassador as a sophomore. With a GPA of 103, Chloe will attend Dartmouth College to study biomedical engineering.
