Ms. DeLuca’s class at Judy Jacobs Parkway Elementary School recently held their final Author’s Celebration of the school year. Family members were invited to help recognize the students’ accomplishments in writing. The featured unit, “Writing Reviews — Best in Show: Judging Collections,” focused on opinion writing and showcased students’ published pieces.

Students and their families enjoyed a tea party featuring tea sets, a compliment board and several special surprises. Students dressed in tea party attire and shared their published books with their families during the celebration. A display outside the library also gave visitors the opportunity to “meet the authors” and view student work.

The celebration concluded with a performance of “A Million Dreams,” which students both sang and signed for their families. The event served as a meaningful way to celebrate students’ creativity and growth throughout the school year.
