Board of Education

Dear Plainview-Old Bethpage Community,

Welcome!

The Plainview-Old Bethpage Board of Education (BOE) plays a vital role in shaping the educational experience for all students in our district. As elected representatives of the community, our Board Members work to ensure that our schools provide a high-quality education in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.

What Does the Board of Education Do?

The BOE is responsible for:

Setting District Policies – Establishing rules and regulations that guide our schools.
Approving the Budget – Managing district finances to ensure responsible spending and funding for educational programs.
Hiring and Evaluating the Superintendent – Overseeing district leadership and ensuring strong administrative direction.
Curriculum Oversight – Reviewing and approving educational programs that meet state and local standards.
Advocating for Students & Families – Representing the interests of the community in educational decision-making.

How Can You Get Involved?

We encourage parents, students, and community members to attend Board meetings, share feedback, and stay engaged in the decisions that shape our district’s future. Meeting schedules, agendas, and minutes are available on the POB School District website.
