Kennedy High School is proud to announce Jacob Riccuiti, Class of 2027, has been recognized by the United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA) and InnerView in the eighth Annual Community Service Impact Awards. The Kroger Co. is presenting the annual Zero Hero Awards to students for taking action to help create communities free of hunger and waste.

The Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School Math Olympiads Club achieved outstanding results during the 2026 competition season, with nearly 50% of participating students earning awards in the NOETIC, MOEMS or both national mathematics competitions. These accomplishments are especially impressive given the large number of schools and students competing from across the country.

On May 21, students from the POBJFKHS Media Club and video production classes traveled to Hofstra University to participate in the 9th annual Broadcasting Awards for Senior High (BASH). Competing against nearly 60 high schools across the metropolitan area, POB Media earned awards in all five categories entered, including a first-place award for Best Arts and Culture feature for a story about the culture of acapella groups at JFKHS.

During a special ceremony held on May 21, Lisa Markowicz-Abel, chairperson of the district’s Title IX Committee, proudly presented Dorothy Drexel, Assistant Principal at Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School, with the prestigious Yves LeMay/Diana Watson Obey Award, and John F. Kennedy High School senior Ariana Mascarelli with the Linda Markowicz Award.

Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School students earned Top 10 placements in New York State in their certification areas at the 2026 Microsoft Office Specialist State Championship Spring Qualifier and have been invited to compete at the National Championship in Nashville next month. The MOS certification is an industry-recognized credential backed by Microsoft that validates real-world skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other applications, demonstrating that students are prepared for success in today’s digital workplace.
