Welcome
Dear Families,
Welcome to POB Schools! We hope your move has gone well and you are ready to become part of our vibrant school community. The District has created several layers of support for our new families and students, which include this packet you are receiving.
First, a little bit about our schools. We have seven schools: four K-4 elementary schools, two 5-8 middle schools, and one 9-12 high school. Our District boasts a 99.7% graduation rate, has a multitude of scholar artists and athletes, is a Best in Music Education district; and our student STEM awards include local, state, national, and international distinctions. There is something for every child in POB Schools.
The faculty, administration, and staff are committed to providing all students with exceptional learning experiences and opportunities. This work is enhanced through the efforts of POB’s active PTA. These volunteers provide our students and staff with additional programs and events which strengthen the home-school connection. The PTA has new family liaisons who will reach out to you within the next few weeks to help with any questions and to ease your transition into the school community.
One of the most exciting facts about our District is that it is growing! POB continues to attract new families. We also have many graduates who have returned to POB to raise their families. With the support of the Board of Education and the community, our finances and facilities have met this growth with new additions and other upgrades.
On behalf of the District and the Board of Education, I welcome your family to the Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District where we strive to live our theme, “Every Student Matters, Every Moment Counts”.
Warmly,
Dr. Mary O’Meara
Superintendent of Schools

Our sports programs are designed for participants of all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned athletes. Whether you’re looking to stay active, learn a new sport, or build teamwork skills, there’s a place for you in our community.
