Using the following guidelines, you can insure that you will have a productive
and enjoyable school year in Chemistry- ATTENDANCE POLICY: You should come to class each day prepared to work. This includes a notebook, a writing utensil,a non-graphing calculator and any other specific materials that I instruct you to bring. You should be on time and seated in class when the bell rings. Failure to follow these simple rules will result in the lowering of your class participation grade. In addition, if you are absent from class, it is your responsibility to make up the work that you have missed in a timely manner. Failure to do so will result in a loss of credit.
- GRADING POLICY: (A) This is a regents course…There is a certain amount of lab work required.
Failure to fulfill this requirement will result in your exclusion from the regents exam in June. You are responsible for keeping your lab folder complete, up to date, and secure. The due date for written labs will be announced in advance. The labs will not be accepted for a grade after the due date, the labs will receive regents credit only.
(B) Homework will be given on a regular basis. It will be collected a random. It serves as a review or a preview of the work being covered in class. It may also serve as practice. It will NOT be accepted late, unless you are absent the day that it is due. Some homework may be assigned online through Castle Learning.(C) Quizzes will be given on a regular basis. There may be a one day or more notice before
each quiz, but I reserve the right to pop quizzes as I see fit. Some quizzes may be assigned online through
Castle Learning.
