-Mrs. Infranca's and Mrs. Roehrig's MAP Groups are happy to announce that they raised $107 for the charity "Kids Need More" through the Walk for a Cause in May and the ice sale in June.  This money will be used to send kids with cancer to camp this summer!
-To All School Store Workers: This is week 1.  If you are scheduled to work week 1, please arrive on time.  If you cannot make your shift or have any questions, please see Mr. O'Sullivan in Room 316.

-Congratulations to the girls' Lacrosse team on their undefeated season.  With a 10-3 victory over Jericho, the team finished with a record of 8 wins and 0 losses.  The team worked hard all season long and w/ the undefeated season it shows that hard work and dedication.
-Thank you to all of you who helped celebrate Promoting Positivity Week!  The Positivity Board looks great and our Dissolving Negativity event was a hugh success.  We look forward to Promoting Positivity with you again next year!

-To All String Players - There will be a full Symphonic Orchestra rehearsal on stage tomorrow morning during zero period.  All 5th through 7th grade string players should attend Tuesday morning's rehearsal.  Violin and Viola players don't leave your instruments in your classrooms this afternoon.

-8th Grade Baseball practice is cancelled today.  You are scheduled to play your Tuesday game at the High School Varsity Field.  Please inform you parents.
-Congratulations to all the performers from Friday's talent show.  The night was filled with fantastic talent by all our students.  We raised almost $600 to donate to the Relay for Life and the Make A Wish Foundation.  Also a huge thank you to the MAP Leaders who did an incredible job running and hosting the event.  If you performed and you did not receive your certificate, please see Mrs. Ruggiero in Room 323 during the day. 
-The Mattlin and Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School combined 7th and 8th grade Choir received two first place awards at the Music in the Parks competition this past Saturday, May 30th at Six Flags Great Adventure.  The Choir won awards for both best overall middle school choir and  best middle school mixed choir.  Congratulations on a great performance!!!

-Jazz Club will be meeting today periods 7 thru 9 to fine tune and rehearse for District Jazz Night.  Come down for as much of the time as possible.

-Attention Talent Show Performers - There will be a mandatory rehearsal today during 9th period in the auditorium.  All must attend.
-Congratulations to the girls Lacrosse team on back to back wins.  They defeated Finley w/ a score of 13-3 and came back from down 3 goals to beat Hicksvillle 8-7.  Come down and root for them this afternoon as they look to continue their undefeated record against Island Trees on the HS turf field. 
Congratulations are in order to the Girls' Tennis Team.  We are undefeated and only have two matches left in our season.  Keep up the fantastic work and best of luck for your remaining season!

-Good Morning!  This is a reminder that Ms. Quattrocchi and Mrs. Winick's MAP groups will be having a Donut Sale this afternoon during 9th period.  The money raised will go to Sunrise Day Camp and help children who have cancer go to day camp this summer.  Please meet us by the gym and buy a donut for $2.00 to support a great cause!!

-Congratulations to the Girls' Lacrosse team on their win against Clarke.  The girls played an outstanding game and won by a score of 15 - 5.  Next up is Cold Spring Harbor as we look to continue our ;undefeated season....Good Job Girls!!!

5/8/15
Congratulations to the Girls LaCrosse team on their win against Jericho with a combined effort they were able to win their first game of the season with a score of 14 - 6.  Keep up the hard work. 
-Jazz Club Brass Sectional 9th period.  All other instruments are encouraged to attend.  Due to the concert next week, the Jaz  Club rehearsal will be Monday Night at 7:30.

-Tomorrow will be the last day for the PTA Plant Sale.  Plants can be purchased during lunch and rec.  8th Graders can purchase their plants duiring MAP and we will hold them until you get back from the field trip.

May is Physical Fitness Month - Many athletes compete in triathalons to stay fit.  The word triathalon has the prefix "tri" in it, which means three.  The three events are:  Biking, Swimming and Running.  The Ironman Triathalon consists of biking 100 miles, swimming 1.5 miles and running 26.2 miles.
-Student Council will meet on Monday, May 4th during zero period, in the library.  Please join us as we will be having a guest speaker talk about Relay for Life.  
-Today is the last day to audition for the talent show.  Please check the flyers for times and locations. 
-There is no Math Olympiads today.  Our next meeting will be next Friday, May 8th during 9th period.

-The POB JFK Wrestling Program will be hosting Open Mats.  Come and learn how to wrestle from collegiate, All County, ad world team level coaches.  Training will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at MMS from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM.  All students are welcomed to attend at no charge.
