The Circus Arrives at Pasadena Elementary School
The Plainview-Old Bethpage School District’s Pasadena Elementary School recently received a special visit from the National Circus Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching circus skills in schools as a way to combine physical activity and the arts. The National Circus Project is the longest running circus arts-in-education organization in the United States, and they spent a week with Pasadena Elementary students offering a series of hands-on workshops to provide physical activities for all ages.
The students were first treated to an assembly demonstrating the spectacular abilities of the artist instructors. Then throughout the week, students were given the opportunity to practice unique skills during their gym class including juggling, plate spinning, balancing, and more. The National Circus Project captured the magic of the circus and shared it with the students of Pasadena Elementary School.
