Question:  When the school district sends out an emergency telephone call, my caller ID on my phone displays either “New York,” “Unknown,” or simply (516) 434-0000.  Can the district fix this?

Answer:  The district has been researching this issue and testing various scenarios over the past few weeks.  We recently changed our caller ID number to be (516) 434-3073.  Since this number is registered with POB Schools, this should solve the issue moving forward.  However, your cellular carrier may still not recognize the number.  To ensure that your cell phone recognizes the caller as POB Schools, you can create a “Contact” on your phone as follows:

First name:  POB

Last name:  Schools

Phone number:  (516) 434-3073

This will ensure that your cell phone always recognizes this number as “POB Schools.”

Question:  On the district website, when I click on some links, a disclaimer pops up on my screen.  What is the purpose of this disclaimer?

Answer:  Because some of the links on our web site link to pages that are not under district control, this disclaimer is necessary.  This was brought to our attention by our internal auditors.  We apologize for the inconvenience.
